What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis of any statement of faith.  The church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of “The Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000.  We band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind.  The ordinances of this church are baptism by immersion and The Lord’s Supper.

Mission Statement

Corinth Baptist Church of Union County, NC, is a Holy Bible-believing group of witnesses for Jesus Christ.  As witnesses and members of Corinth our mission seems multi-faceted but, through Christ’s love, grace and hope, it is a mission marked by a single purpose – to obey God’s Word.  Joyful worship, compassionate outreach and prayerful attitude highlight this obedience and, as detailed in God’s word, our mission is nothing short of what is required of believers.  We are excited to have you join us to help Corinth fulfill its mission.

Relationships

The government of this church is vested in the body of believers who compose it.  It is subject to the control of no other ecclesiastical body, but recognizes and sustains the obligation of mutual counsel and cooperation, which are common among Baptist churches.  In so far as is practical this church cooperates and supports the association and State Convention affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.
